Boutique strategic advisory
for the built environment

Because built-environment ideas deserve to be built.

Insite Perspective helps founders, investors, and public-sector leaders turn ambitious visions into real projects. We advise proptech, contech, climate-tech, and infrastructure innovators to navigate the complex decision pathways that shape what gets built.

Insite’s founder, Christa Strand, is a built-environment expert with 20+ years experience delivering complex engineering and development projects and a passion for turning ideas into action and bringing projects to completion.

Built environment innovation

Why Insite Perspective

Adoption in the built environment is difficult.

The sales channels in construction and development are rarely linear. Decisions are influenced by a complex network of owners, consultants, contractors, regulators, and investors — each with their own incentives and risk considerations. As a result, the industry is cautious and slow to adopt change.

Strong ideas often stall not because the innovation is weak, but because the path to credibility, buy-in, procurement, and implementation is unclear. The people evaluating a technology are often different from the people who ultimately approve, fund, and deliver the project.

Insite Perspective helps clients navigate this complexity. By mapping how decisions are actually made within the built environment, innovations can be positioned so they resonate with the stakeholders who control project outcomes. The result is a clearer path from technical potential to real industry adoption.

Stop guessing who the buyer  is

Identify who actually has the incentive and authority to adopt your solution.

Validate the pain point

Pressure-test whether the problem is strong enough to drive real demand.

Understand how decisions actually happen

Map the complex ecosystem of owners, consultants, contractors, and regulators.

Tell the story that drives adoption

About

Perspective shaped by more than two decades inside the industry.

I'm Christa, founder of Insite Perspective. Over the course of my career, I have worked across engineering, construction, and real estate development, leading complex projects from early strategy through procurement and delivery. I have sat on multiple sides of the table and understand how buildings are actually approved, financed, and built.

That experience has shown me where promising ideas tend to break down: not necessarily in design, but in the handoff between technical potential and industry adoption. I help clients bridge that gap by bringing a practical understanding of execution risk, stakeholder dynamics, and what it takes to earn buy-in inside real projects.

Execution-first strategy

Grounded advice on how projects are procured, financed, and delivered.

Pressure-test ideas

Asking questions to clarify the real problem and sharpen the story for key stakeholders.

Ecosystem connections

Access to a trusted network of developers, engineers, consultants, and testing partners to access expertise and accelerate progress.

Services

Innovation in the built environment rarely follows a straight path.

Founders often discover that the buyer isn’t who they expected, the decision process is unclear, and the path to adoption runs through a complex network of stakeholders.

We help organizations navigate these realities to identify value, navigate complex processes, and ensure ideas gain traction in real-world projects.

Market Strategy

For early-stage founders entering the built environment

Innovations often fail when the buyer, incentive, or pain point isn’t obvious. We help founders pressure-test assumptions and translate building innovation into a market strategy grounded in how projects are financed, approved, and delivered.

Outcomes

  • Identify the real buyer
  • Validate the pain point
  • Define a credible market entry strategy

Technology & Innovation Advisory

For owners, investors, and public-sector partners

Innovators often struggle to identify what will gain traction in a rapidly evolving built environment. We provide an independent perspective on emerging technologies, pilot programs, and partnerships shaping the built environment.

Outcomes

  • Evaluate new technologies and opportunities
  • Understand implementation risks and barriers
  • Identify where innovation can deliver real value

Tiny Box Systems logo

"Christa has been a huge help to our team. She has strong expertise across construction, building science, and sales and marketing, and has been incredibly valuable in connecting us with the right people, and learning about industry standards, expectations, and how to better navigate the space.

She is eager, enthusiastic, and generous with her time in reviewing our materials and brings deep industry insight, while also understanding the constraints and realities we face as a startup. Her support has been thoughtful, practical, and genuinely valuable."

Seafoam logo

"Christa has been a really valuable thought partner as we move Seafoam Materials toward pilot validation. She brings a clear lens across building science, regulatory pathways, and how things actually play out in industry, which helped us quickly focus on what matters and what to pressure-test next. Her perspective also shaped how we approached customer discovery and which conversations to prioritize.

What I appreciate is how she meets an early-stage company where it is and turns complex constraints into practical next steps."
